At SCORE, we believe that providing young people with opportunities to learn and grow in creative fields is one of the most powerful ways to invest in their future. That’s why we are proud to support the Community Media Hub, an initiative dedicated to training adolescents in film and media skills. Through this program, students gain hands-on experience in filmmaking, live production, and media production, equipping them with the tools they need to succeed in an ever-evolving industry.
A Real-World Experience: OnWatch TV & Adelanto High School
On March 20, 2025, this mission came to life in a truly special way as OnWatch TV assisted the Adelanto High School Film and Video Production Class with filming and streaming their first-ever live performance for the school’s spring music festival concert. This project was a perfect example of how the Community Media Hub connects students with real-world opportunities and mentors, allowing them to put classroom knowledge into practice while gaining professional experience.
Five dedicated students, mentored by the CEO of OnWatch TV, were part of the production team, with each student playing a key role:
- Three students operated Canon XF 605 cameras, capturing dynamic angles and ensuring high-quality footage of the live performance.
- Two students made up the interview team, with one handling the camera and the other conducting interviews with performers and event organizers.
This hands-on learning experience allowed students to enhance their technical skills, from setting up equipment to operating cameras and executing live filming. More importantly, it gave them the confidence to work in a professional production setting, where their teamwork and dedication were critical to the event’s success.
Providing Opportunities for Emerging Filmmakers
At SCORE, we understand that mentorship and real-world experience are crucial to fostering the next generation of media professionals. Through the Community Media Hub, we are able to provide local students with invaluable exposure to the film and media industries. Students not only gain technical proficiency but also develop a deeper understanding of how the media world works, allowing them to expand their career horizons and pursue their passions in film, television, and digital media.
The collaboration with OnWatch TV is just the beginning. As part of this initiative, students are exposed to industry-standard equipment, like the Canon XF 605 cameras used for the concert, and learn from experts in the field. Scholarships for Future Filmmakers
The Community Media Hub is also helping to make education more accessible for aspiring filmmakers through scholarships for students to study film.
