Something has been building.
Over the past several weeks, SCORE has been preparing for one of its most meaningful community projects to date: Journey, a film and community campaign exploring immigration, identity, history, education, culture, belonging, and our shared future.
The public may see the flyer, the premiere date, the festival, the radio interview, or the social media posts. But behind all of that is a larger purpose.
Journey is more than a movie. It is a movement.
The project brings together film, original monologues, community storytelling, cultural celebration, education, and public conversation. It asks people to look beyond headlines and labels and pay attention to the human stories that shape our communities.
At the center of the campaign is a simple but powerful idea: different people, shared stories, and a stronger tomorrow.
SCORE has spent this season preparing not only for a film screening, but for a broader community experience. That preparation has included campaign planning, partner outreach, media messaging, flyer development, RSVP systems, event logistics, community invitations, and public awareness efforts to make sure the project reaches people with clarity and purpose.
One important step was the recent radio interview, which helped introduce the heart of Journey to a wider audience. The interview created space to talk about why the project matters, where the story comes from, and how the campaign connects to immigration, identity, education, history, culture, and belonging. It also helped make clear that Journey is not meant to end when the credits roll.
That is the point.
SCORE wants Journey to become a platform for continued dialogue, school and community partnerships, educational programming, student engagement, civic reflection, and cultural understanding. The film is the doorway. The campaign is what continues after people walk through it.
On October 3, 2026, the Journey experience begins with an afternoon community gathering at Expressions of La Cultura: Festival of the Creative Arts at the Singh Center for the Arts in Apple Valley. From 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, guests will experience the introduction to the Journey campaign, including the official Journey trailer and a public invitation into the larger work.
Later that evening, the campaign continues at RAWFA Studios in Victorville with the free full-film premiere screening. Doors open at 6:00 PM for cocktail hour, with showtime at 7:00 PM. Seating is limited, and guests are encouraged to RSVP in advance.
This two-part day reflects what Journey is meant to be. It is not just a screening. It is a cultural and community moment.
The afternoon creates space for introduction, creativity, and public connection. The evening invites people deeper into the story through film, reflection, and shared experience. Together, they represent SCORE’s belief that storytelling can move people, connect communities, and open the door to meaningful action.
SCORE’s preparation for Journey also connects to its broader mission as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our work is rooted in education equity, youth opportunity, community voice, cultural understanding, civic engagement, media training, scholarships, and community powerbuilding. Journey brings many of those priorities together in one campaign.
It allows us to use film as a tool for education.
It allows us to use story as a bridge between communities.
It allows us to create space for immigrant voices and lived experiences.
It allows us to invite schools, families, artists, leaders, students, and organizations into a deeper conversation.
It allows us to continue building partnerships that do not end after one event.
That is why the recent preparation matters.
Every flyer, interview, QR code, RSVP form, meeting, message, and invitation is part of a larger effort to build something that can live beyond one night. SCORE is not only preparing for October 3. We are preparing for what Journey can become after October 3.
We envision Journey continuing through screenings, school and college partnerships, community conversations, workshops, student engagement, partner activations, media projects, and future events that help people keep exploring the themes raised by the film.
Immigration.
Identity.
Education.
History.
Culture.
Belonging.
Our shared future.
These are not one-night topics. They are ongoing conversations.
As the premiere approaches, SCORE invites the community to experience Journey, share it, talk about it, and consider how this campaign can connect to classrooms, organizations, churches, colleges, cultural spaces, civic groups, and community programs.
Journey belongs in rooms where people are ready to listen. It belongs in schools where students are learning about identity and belonging. It belongs in community spaces where people are trying to understand one another more deeply. It belongs anywhere people believe stories can help us see each other more clearly.
SCORE is proud to lead this campaign in partnership with OnWatch TV and the community partners helping bring the work forward.
The Journey continues October 3, 2026.
But the movement does not stop there.
Different people. Shared stories. A stronger tomorrow.
